The National Diversity Database Initiative (NDDI) is different from any other Job Bank. (2 of 10)

The National Diversity Database Initiative (NDDI) is a proposed national aggregating resource of diversity professionals in the PR, Communications and related fields. It is a database concept intended to be accessed by hiring companies, organizations (including not-for-profits), and recruiting firms. It will essentially be a centralized marketplace with the resources to assemble, in confidence, a broad range of diversity candidates for hiring organizations to consider.

For candidates, it will simplify their ability to present their qualifications, in confidence, for a variety of assignments. It will potentially open new markets in locations they can specify—or where remote employment would be possible from their current location.

The proposal addresses an ongoing problem of the lack of diversity in the PR profession. It is a widely held belief of hiring organizations that a key reason is the lack of qualified candidates from diverse backgrounds. However, many professionals in the DE&I community disagree saying it is a matter of making the effort to look in non-traditional directions.

The NDDI will be a national “one stop” resource that proactively and creatively seeks out diversity candidates to participate in the candidate pool. This initiative has the potential to have a major impact on ameliorating the situation.
